After 15 years of tobacco control advocacy, IHPDS together with FCAP and other tobacco control advocates rejoiced in the signing of the Tobacco Regulation Act of the Philippines or Republic Act 9211 by President Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo in 2003.
IHPDS Director, Dr. Marilyn Lorenzo, shared the Human Resources for Health situation in the country during a forum entitled "Achieving the UN Millennium Development Goals 4, 5 and 6: Challenges to the Philippine Health System" in 2005. This was sponsored by the Philippine Legislator's Committee on Population and Development (PLCPD) and the Senate of the Philippines.
Conduct of policy roundtable discussions on national, local and organizational health and health-related issues, a regular service sought after by the IHPDS clients in government, private, non-government and international organizations.
